Want to hit the road and experience a ‘back to basics’ lifestyle but don’t fancy a classic camper? Indie is a brand new VW California campervan in Indium Grey. He’s an ultra-modern member of the fleet, providing a different level of camping for those looking for an easier 21st century campervan holiday. VW California hire doesn't get any better than this!
Equipped to the highest specifications in terms of comfort and safety, Indie includes heated front seats and cruise control plus a luxurious interior. He can travel all over the UK, Ireland and Europe, but pets are not allowed on board.
As the only camper built in-house by Volkswagen, the California Ocean offers a modern camping experience you don’t get with the classic models. Designed to be easy to drive with an automatic gearbox and very comfortable, you won’t find a VW camper more suited to family trips than this.
Available to pick up from our Southampton depot, Indie provides a fantastic driving experience. Stay within the Hampshire area, and you’ll find the stunning New Forest and South Downs national parks. If you want to keep the kids entertained, you can even visit Peppa Pig World while you’re here.
Many of our customers collect Indie and venture to the Isle of or the gorgeous attractions Dorset, Devon and Cornwall have to offer. The south west is perfect for laid-back holidays, people who love to explore culture or those who love an action-packed holiday.

Using VW camper hire was a breeze from start to finish. Ben was super attentive and answered all of my questions prior to picking up. The website was easy to use and it made it easy for me to remember milestones/dates on when I needed to submit either a payment or paperwork. Indie was super easy to drive and was a superb addition for our Silverstone visit. Comfy and had all mod cons you would expect from a top end Camper. I would highly recommend Ben and Team VW Camper Hire and Indie specifically. Being such a new addition to their fleet, it was so good. I’ll be using again in the future for sure. |

Ben and his team were fantastic from start to finish. I was booking on behalf of a big group, each of who needed their own portals and documents uploaded. Ben made this process really easy and couldn’t have been more helpful. The vans were great, contained everything we needed and made the trip both comfortable and enjoyable.
