Glastonbury Festival in a Campervan

Glastonbury 2014 opens tomorrow so whats it going to be like in a campervan? Well, we like to think you will be experiencing the festival with a touch of luxury and of course if the inevitable rain comes then you will definitely be thankful you chose to stay in a camper! Here’s some information about our festival campervan hire service.

Do I need a specific ticket to take campervan to Glastonbury? There are two designated areas at Glastonbury for campervans which are the East Campervan field and the West Campervan field. These are the only areas you allowed to stay in a campervan but this must be bought in advance and cannot be purchased when you arrive. Is the campervan field secure? The campervan field is surrounded by steel fencing and there is a 24 hour security patrol. The campervan fields always have people around and we have felt very secure there with our campervan. What facilities are there in the East and West Campervan fields art Glastonbury? In both campervan fields there are water taps, waste water disposal and of course toilets. In addition there are catering vans for that obligatory bacon buttie or burger when the need arises!

Is there any electric hook-up? There are no electric hook up in the campervan areas at Glastonbury. In terms of power then you are reliant upon your leisure battery which ordinarily will power the lights, fridge and pumped tap in your campervan. How can i recharge my leisure battery? There are two way to recharge the battery. Firstly you will have to turn the engine on every other day to recharge the battery and the other option is to hook up a solar panel to recharge the leisure battery. Can you use LPG gas at the festival? This is fine although its best to have it a gas safety box which all VW Camper Hire campervans have but remember there is no where to get a refill so make sure your bottle is full before you go. Your gas bottle will fuel the gas stove, grill and oven in the campervan. Does my Campervan hire have its own water supply? Yes, all the campervans have either a waterbottle or integrated water tank. Refilling your water bottle is a pain so best to conserve water as best you can!
