Campervan Hire is a great way to explore the delights of South Devon and why not visit the market town of Tavistock. Locatedin the south west of England, in the middle of Devon, on the edge of Dartmoor which includes granite tors, deep forest valleys with frantic rivers, and exposed moor land. At the foot of Dartmoor and next to the Tamar Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty, Tavistock is an excellent central location to base yourselves for day trips out in one of our vans.
There is so much on offer in the town itself: a fascinating and vibrant indoor Pannier market, Farmers market and museum. Not forgetting the Meadowlands indoor swimming pool with its flume and river rapids, the Meadowlands park with its tennis courts, exercise equipment and large play area for children of all ages. There’s also a great dirt jump cycle park, a canal-side walk, plus the Wharf Arts Centre & Theatre.
Why not hire a bike and explore the coast-to-coast Ilfracombe to Plymouth cycle route that skirts the market town? Or take a trip to Morwellham Quay, a working village, mine & craft centre that is just 4 miles outside of Tavistock and well worth a visit.
The area has so much to offer you’ll find yourselves planning a return to visit before you’ve even left!
