If you\u2019re thinking about taking a VW campervan for a trip, then Dorset<\/a> has a huge amount to offer, with its variety of beautiful coves, sandy beaches and the renowned Jurassic Coast \u2013 there\u2019s more than enough to fill a few days away!<\/p>\n

Lulworth Cove<\/h2>\n

\"Lulworth<\/a>This has to be one of the most beautiful coves in the UK, with its remarkable horse shoe shaped form it\u2019s why it\u2019s one of Dorset\u2019s most popular attractions especially during the summer months. During the summer months regular boat trips depart from here to Durdle Door and Mupe Bay allowing you to see more of the rugged Dorset coastline. With ample car parking, a small caf\u00e9 on the beach, it\u2019s a lovely place to while away a day.<\/p>\n

Lyme Regis\u00a0\"Lyme<\/a><\/h2>\n

Famous more perhaps for its fossil finds and geology, Lyme Regis is a beautiful place where the town is situated alongside the spotless sandy beach. If you\u2019re looking for somewhere that spans buckets and spades for the kids combined with top class eating places within a few hundred yards then it\u2019s all here. Again, part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site Lyme Regis and the local area is steeped in history not least in fossils dating back 1000\u2019s of years! At the western end of the golden sandy beach is the Cobb, built in Victorian times to provide a harbour for the local fishing trade. Lyme Regis resembles more of a small Mediterranean port than a seaside town. Once you reach West Dorset there are ample campsites to park up with a VW Campervan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Chesil Beach<\/h2>\n

\"Chesil<\/a>Chesil Beach (sometimes known as Chesil Bank) forms a significant part of the Jurassic Coast. A natural wonder with a bank of 180 billion pebbles covering an 18 mile stretch of the Dorset Coast. Behind the pebble bank is an amazing wildlife loaded lagoon. Known for its amazing geology, it is an area that\u2019s beauty can only be described as outstanding. Even during peak season due to its massive expanse it never feels crowded.<\/p>\n

Bournemouth Beach<\/h2>\n

\"Bournemouth<\/a>Below the imposing cliffs of Bournemouth sit 7 miles of award winning sandy beaches. Whatever way you prefer to relax, they have it. With beach huts on the front, buckets and spades galore it has the full beach experience. The well-known Sandbanks is nestled around the corner with its knee deep bay perfect for learning all forms of water sports. Directly behind the beach are the winter gardens with their year round attractions, bordered on the northern side by the town centre peppered with top quality restaurants, coffee shops and bars.<\/p>\n

Seatown Beach<\/h2>\n

\"Seatown<\/a>Once renowned for its smuggling Seatown beach is secluded, clean and quiet but surprisingly easy to access being only about a mile from Chideock. Backed by the Golden Cap which is the highest point on the Southern Coast of England. Access to the beach is easy and The Anchor Pub above the beach is a favourite with beach goers and walkers alike. The privately owned beach is also in close proximity to Lyme Regis, so is another popular location for fossil hunters. A real gem for some quiet rest and relaxation away from some of the more traditional tourist traps. Dorset\u2019s countryside means there are many camping and caravan parks which take camper vans, meaning you can take in many of the different natural attractions by varying the locations that you stay at.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
